iPhone 18 Pro launch event expected in September, but with a catch

For many years now, these new iPhone models have launched in September – and all indications are that it will happen again this year.

Here are the latest three iPhone reveal dates:

• 2025: Tuesday September 9
• 2024: Monday September 9
• 2023: Tuesday September 12

As you can see, Apple’s schedule for iPhone announcements is very predictable. The company unveils its major new flagship products around the second week of September.

One problem in predicting this year’s date is that Labor Day will be unusually late, set for September 7.

Apple usually launches the iPhone the week after Labor Day, which could mean Monday September 14.

An unveiling from Wednesday September 9 is technically possible though. In 2022, Apple launched the new iPhone two days after Labor Day and could do the same.

Either way, early to mid-September is when we can expect the big reveal of the iPhone 18 Pro.

However, one key change expected this year is that the base iPhone 18 model won’t be released until early 2027. Instead, Apple’s September flagship lineup would include:

When to expect the official iPhone 18 Pro release date

Although the exact date of Apple’s iPhone event always varies slightly depending on Labor Day, once the unveiling takes place, Apple tends to ship its new models on a very consistent day: the Friday of the week following the event.

So, if the iPhone 18 lineup is revealed on Monday, September 14, we can expect pre-orders to open this Friday, September 18, with models shipping to users for arrival on Friday September 25.

However, if the announcement takes place on Wednesday, September 9, pre-orders will take place on September 11 and the new models will arrive on September 11. Friday September 18.
