iOS 26.6 beta 1 arrived today, and with iOS 27 just around the corner, the changes are unsurprisingly very slight. But one difference was discovered by Aaron Perris: a new alert that appears in iOS 26.6 when you try to block one too many contacts.

Apple doesn’t publish this information, but iOS quietly places a limit on the number of contacts you can add to your “blocked” list.
Although the vast majority of users will likely never reach this limit, iOS 26.6 adds a new alert for the few who do.
Here’s what it says, according to Aaron Perris:
Limit of blocked contacts reached
You have reached the maximum number of blocked contacts. To block additional callers, delete a blocked contact in Settings.
This pop-up was discovered by Perris while reviewing updated code provided by Apple in iOS 26.6 Developer Beta 1.
Here is a screenshot of his discovery:
This is an extremely minor change. It’s only notable because it represents something new in iOS 26.6, a version that so far seems completely devoid of other user-facing updates.
Have you already reached the maximum limit in iOS for blocked contacts? Let us know in the comments.
