Gurman: OLED MacBook Pro won’t be ‘significantly thinner’

Bloomberg‘s Mark Gurman has somewhat backtracked on his previous report that Apple’s upcoming OLED touchscreen MacBook Pro will be thinner than current models. “I don’t think in the end it will be significantly thinner,” he posted on X on Wednesday evening in response to a question about the machine, which is expected to launch later this month.

In October 2025, Gurman announced that MacBook Pro OLED models would have “thinner and lighter” bezels. Then again in November 2025, he said touchscreen models would have “a thinner chassis.” It now appears they will only be “considerably lighter,” according to Gurman’s October 2026 newsletter. Looking thinner and lighter don’t necessarily go hand in hand.
