iOS 27 includes three improvements for FaceTime, the most notable being a dual-camera feature on some newer iPhone models. On iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro, iPhone 17 Pro Max, and iPhone Air, a Dual Capture feature lets you record video of yourself and what’s in front of you at the same time. Tomb Raider is back. Again. Lara Croft is back. Again. This time, his character is set between last decade’s “Survivor” trilogy and his iconic debut in 1996. Yes, 30 years ago. The Legacy of Atlantis is a remake of this very first adventure, focusing on Atlantean mythology, tomb robbing and, well, some dinosaurs. At Summer Game Fest 2026, Crystal Dynamics and Flying Wild Hog shared the first gameplay demo, with Unreal Engine 5 adding vivid detail and richness to Lara’s difficulties. The developers made a wise choice by focusing the demo on a first part of the original game. Set…

Apple’s keynote at WWDC 2026 broke with a long-standing format tradition, abandoning the platform-by-platform structure that has defined the annual developers conference for years in favor of a topical presentation. Previous WWDC keynotes were organized by operating system. Last year’s event went through iOS, watchOS, tvOS, macOS, visionOS, and iPadOS in succession before ending with a developer-focused segment. This year, Apple abandoned that structure entirely, dividing the keynote into three broad themes: platform improvements, trust and security, and Apple Intelligence and Siri. The change appears to reflect the degree of cross-platform integration Apple has achieved in this cycle, which has…

In 2021, I wrote about Fire Emblem for our GBA 20th anniversary story. Over the past five years, I’ve played it from start to finish twice, and I can once again confirm that it’s my favorite Game Boy Advance game. I hadn’t even heard of Fire Emblem as a series before jumping into it. Advanced Warsanother Intelligent Systems game. From there, I discovered that there was a whole series of fantasy-inspired games with similar gameplay, but which had never been translated into English. Thirsty to know more, but with a distinct lack of Japanese skills, I spent a year delving…

Apple filed a 12-page response to Epic Games’ attempt to have its Supreme Court petition dismissed, arguing that Epic’s own filing “confirms the need for review.” Epic filed a 35-page opposition on June 4, 2026, urging the Supreme Court to reject Apple’s appeal. Apple’s response targets two central arguments put forward by Epic in this case. On the issue of anti-direction, Apple claims that Epic misrepresents the scope of the injunction against it. According to Apple, the order only limited specific anti-management practices and did not address App Store commissions, making Epic’s framework an attempt to rewrite the decision rather…

French music platform Deezer has launched a free online tool capable of detecting AI-generated tracks in Apple Music playlists, as well as in playlists created on other streaming platforms. “No other company has yet followed our lead, so we decided to allow everyone to check if their playlists include synthetic music, regardless of the streaming platform they use,” Alexis Lanternier, CEO of Deezer, said in a statement. “A large majority of people want to know if AI music is recommended to them and our data shows that almost half of users joining Deezer from another platform have AI tracks in…

Erman Gunes/Shutterstock Fitness trackers are extremely popular right now, whether they’re standalone hardware or software built into your smartphone, smartwatch, or other wearable device. However, they can also be prohibitively expensive, especially in cases where dedicated hardware meets subscription-based software. One app aims to solve this problem, at least in the case of the Oura Ring, the smart ring that silently tracks more than 50 of your health metrics. The new app, called Cracked Oura, will allow you to skip paying for Oura membership without sacrificing the benefits of AI…

Some older iPhone models will need a software update to continue running WhatsApp from late November 2026, after Meta confirmed it was increasing the minimum system requirements for the app. Starting November 30, WhatsApp will require iOS 15.5 or later, instead of the current requirement of iOS 15.1. Affected models are iPhone 6s, iPhone 6s Plus, iPhone SE (1st generation), iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus. iOS 15.8.8 is the latest update these models can install, so owners just need to make sure their device is updated before the deadline. To be clear, no iPhone is outright abandoned. Every model…

If you’ve installed the macOS 27 Golden Gate Developer Beta and signed up for the Siri AI waitlist but are still waiting to be accepted, there is a Terminal command workaround that immediately activates the new virtual assistant on your Mac.
