Apple will rely exclusively on Samsung Display for the production of OLED touchscreens for its upcoming redesigned MacBook Pro models, according to a new Korea-based report. The Elect. Citing industry sources, the publication said the 14-inch and 16-inch panels will be produced on Samsung’s 8.6-generation OLED line in Asan, South Chungcheong Province of Korea. The estimated initial supply would be 2.5 million panels, with mass production expected to begin around August. Winnond/Shutterstock It may seem like an exaggeration, but Europeans would rather get a bunch of small gadgets to survive the summer heat than upgrade to air conditioners. In fact, adoption rates are so low that only around 20% of European homes have them – a drop in the ocean when compared to the United States, where the figure is almost 90%. However, as much as American citizens love powerful HVAC systems (in places like Florida, they are essential), they are very energy-hungry, and in a world heading toward ecological disaster,…
Karolis Kavolelis/Shutterstock In 2022, the average size of televisions installed in American homes was 47.5 inches. Many people are simply no longer willing to settle for a screen smaller than 50 inches, and in fact, sales of 80- to 89-inch TVs increased 26.5% year-over-year in 2025. The largest size TV you can buy is an extreme home theater that easily takes up an entire wall in your home. Rapid advances in television technology date back to the 1970s, when virtually all home televisions came with a color screen. But for…
VectorStockbd/Shutterstock With news that AI data centers are harming local ecosystems, it’s easy to have a knee-jerk reaction and think that everything humans build is inherently damaging. After all, something as simple as a paved road obviously impedes the movement of wildlife large and small, so it’s not a stretch to believe that any artificial constructions will inevitably cause damage to the environment. However, this does not appear to be the case for solar farms. Emitting no greenhouse gas emissions and requiring minimal water usage is great in itself, but…
Apple’s next high-end laptop is expected to bring the most significant external changes to the MacBook Pro line since 2021. No renders, case leaks or dimensions have emerged, but a series of reports have established much of what’s about to change. BloombergMark Gurman of , said that there was a good chance that the model would represent a “real overhaul” for the laptop, thanks to the combination of an OLED screen and a thinner design, and Apple would apparently be working on the thinnest and lightest products in their categories in the technology industry. The design is also expected to…
Joan Cros Garcia – Corbis/Getty Images After years of creating smartphones running everything from Adobe Flash and Windows Mobile-based operating systems to Symbian and Android, LG is exiting the smartphone business in 2021, with July 31 marking the official end date. The company has made several interesting and popular smartphones. For example, the company launched LG Prada in 2006, which introduced Apple’s iPhone to the market as the first smartphone with a capacitive screen, which is a big deal considering other smartphones had resistive screens or lacked a touchscreen. Similarly,…
Nickbeer/Getty Images Video doorbells have quickly become one of the most popular smart home devices on the market. From suburbs to city apartment complexes, it seems like almost every front door now sports a rectangle containing a camera. After all, they promise peace of mind, allowing you to screen visitors from the comfort of your couch or keep a watchful eye on your porch when you’re away from home. But while these devices offer a level of convenience and security that’s hard to say no to, they’re far from perfect…
The shortage of memory chips has impacted the entire computer market, affecting both Macs and PCs. Apple and other companies have raised their prices, but Apple is better positioned than its competitors. Machines like the Mac mini and Mac Studio are in high demand for using AI agents on devices, and Apple plans to take advantage of this by refreshing its Mac lineup in 2026 and 2027. Apple has already launched the MacBook Neo and updated the MacBook Air and MacBook Pro models with M5 series chips, but more updates will be available before the end of the year. Launches…
