When your case is placed on the floor or carpet, the air intake may be partially or completely blocked. This alone causes the power supply to run hotter, and it also creates other problems. Rugs and carpets generate static electricity, which attracts dust particles. The result is that this dust is sucked up by your computer’s fans and ends up on the GPU or CPU.
Even the floor itself accumulates a lot of dust, especially if you have pets. At the same time, keeping your PC above ground level with stands or in a desk doesn’t entirely solve this problem.
