AT&T announces new /month Build-a-Plan wireless plan

AT&T just announced a new wireless plan, “Build-a-Plan,” that lets customers choose exactly the features that work for them, and it starts at just $15/month. Here are the details.

AT&T’s Build-a-Plan lets you add and remove features each month for a personalized, flexible plan

Wireless plans often come with a lot of costs that you have no control over. But AT&T’s new “Build-a-Plan” aims to put total cost control back in the hands of users.

Build-a-Plan focuses on affordability and flexibility, allowing wireless users to customize their plan from month to month rather than being stuck with a single high rate.

You can see the pricing breakdown below, which starts at $15/month for unlimited calls, texts, and 1GB of data.

Personally, I like the transparency and number of options that Build-a-Plan provides.

If you never use Hotspot, for example, you can get 15GB of data, plus unlimited talk and text for just $25/month. That’s a good deal for a major carrier like AT&T.

Plus, if you’re on a tight budget, you can add and remove features from your plan each month. So if you know you’ll need a lot of data one month for a vacation, you can upgrade to the unlimited plan and then reduce it the next month as needed.

Here is Jenifer Robertson, executive vice president and general manager of AT&T Consumer:

“Customers want plans that fit their lives. Other carriers offer structured, universal plans with additional services that customers don’t ask for as ‘savings.’ By giving our customers the freedom to scale their wireless service from month to month, we’re giving them an affordable way to connect to America’s largest wireless network while controlling their budget. It’s a win-win.

AT&T says Build-a-Plan will officially go live for users starting next week, Wednesday, May 27. You can register at att.com/plans/build-a-plan/.
