The keynote will include a host of AI news and perhaps Android XR updates. Justin Sullivan/Getty Images It’s time again for Google’s annual developer conference. We’ll also hear about a ton of updates for the company’s consumer products at Google I/O 2026. The event will take place on May 19-20. Most major news will be announced during the keynote, which begins Tuesday at 1 p.m. ET. You will be able to watch it on YouTube in English (a separate ASL stream is available). The feed is below for your convenience, because we’re nice like that. Google has already announced most of the Android news related to the event. He talked about a new line of Googlebook laptops, Gemini Intelligence, and many features of Android 17. As for what to expect from Google I/O 2026, there will be plenty of news about what the company has been doing with AI. It’s likely we’ll hear about search updates. A Gemini 4 announcement could be expected, as well as news on the latest Veo text-to-video model. It’s possible that Google will release more details about the unified operating system for Googlebooks that will bring Android and ChromeOS together – we got a glimpse of it during the Android Show last week. Then there’s the hardware. A first look at the Pixel 11 and the next Pixel Watch may be coming, but we’ve been waiting to hear more about Android XR and I/O is a great opportunity for Google to showcase its work in the mixed reality space. There’s also the Gemini-infused Google Home smart speaker that the company announced last fall. Google said the $99 device would be available this spring, so perhaps it will reveal when you can buy it, if you’re interested. Post navigation The Nest app is down for many users
