After months of very limited testing, WhatsApp is finally offering the first stage of its Liquid Glass redesign to more users. Here are the details. Liquid Glass begins rolling out more widely on WhatsApp Last October, WhatsApp rolled out a small-scale test of the Liquid Glass look applied to the app’s bottom navigation bar and certain elements of its Chats tab interface. Since then, Meta has experimented with its adaptation of the Liquid Glass redesign in other UI elements, such as the voicemail player, chat interface, message reactions, and context menus. Today, the company appears to be rolling out the first stage of its broader Liquid Glass overhaul, with several users reporting on X that they can now see the updated interface. That said, not everyone appreciated the change: On my device, WhatsApp now shows the Liquid Glass redesign in the bottom navigation bar, some chat elements, and the top navigation bar of the main Chats interface. Other UI elements, such as the voicemail player and message reactions menu, still use the old design. However, it should only be a matter of time before Meta introduces Liquid Glass to more parts of the app. Does your WhatsApp show Liquid Glass navigation bar? Let us know in the comments.
