Car keys in Apple Wallet are now available for a major new vehicle brand

Apple Wallet’s car key functionality has recently expanded to several notable vehicle brands, the latest being Porsche. Here are the details.

Porsche now supports car keys in Apple Wallet, one vehicle available now and another coming soon

Car keys in Apple Wallet continue to expand to more automakers after a slow initial launch.

Apple’s Car Key feature offers the convenience of locking and unlocking your vehicle using an iPhone or Apple Watch, sometimes automatically using Ultra Wideband.

Last year, Apple promised that 13 new vehicle brands would soon add car keys. And among this list, some of the most notable launches so far have been Toyota and Rivian.

We’re still waiting for General Motors to follow through on its commitment to have Chevrolet, Cadillac and GMC add car keys.

But recently, another big name on Apple’s list officially launched support.

Car keys in Apple Wallet are now supported by Porsche with its 2026 Macan EV, as confirmed by users on Reddit. And soon, the functionality will be extended to another Porsche vehicle: the 2026 Cayenne EV.

Porsche previously announced that both vehicles would support Apple Car Key. But it’s only in the last couple of months that the Macan has become widely available.

The 2026 Cayenne EV is available to order now. However, its first deliveries are not expected until August.

So, in the coming months, Porsche will have two vehicles that support Apple Wallet car keys. And hopefully we’ll see more vehicles follow suit later this year and beyond.
