Apple’s major Siri overhaul will be revealed on June 8, and the company is already reportedly working with developers to integrate the apps, but it faces concerns over one key issue: money.
Apple courts developers to support new Siri, but some worry about future commission

Today The information released a report stating that Apple is working to better integrate AI agents into the App Store. An announcement on this front could come at WWDC.
But the report also highlights Apple’s efforts to court developers to support its new Siri in iOS 27.
Aaron Tilley writes:
In some cases, developers are slow to take advantage of the new Siri. In China, for example, Apple has encouraged app developers to integrate the new Siri⦠However, some of those developers are reluctant to do so because they fear it will lead to Apple imposing fees on their apps, people familiar with the discussions said.
Apple told some developers that it would not charge a commission at the start of the partnership, but it also told them that it did not rule out introducing one later… Among the Chinese developers that Apple is courting to integrate their applications with the new Siri are Baidu, Alibaba and Tencent, according to employees of these companies.
It’s no surprise that Apple is working with developers ahead of WWDC to get buy-in for Siri’s new features.
However, interestingly, Apple has reportedly told some high-profile developers that it is “not ruling out” introducing a fee on Siri integration in the future.
It’s unclear exactly what such a pricing structure might look like.
Presumably, the Siri integration under discussion is the app intents feature Apple previously announced for Siri, but never delivered. App Intents will give Siri the ability to perform hundreds of new in-app and cross-app actions without users needing to open those apps.
But if that’s all that’s being discussed, it’s hard to imagine how fees could come into play in the future. So maybe there’s more to developer Siri’s story than we’ve heard so far.
