iOS 27’s upgraded Camera app will be ‘fully customizable,’ report says

iOS 27 plans big changes for Apple’s Camera app, with a new report saying it will be “fully customizable.” Here are the details.

Here’s what to expect from iOS 27’s Camera app

Last month, Bloomberg reported that iOS 27’s Camera app will get a new “Siri” mode offering visual intelligence capabilities.

But according to a new report, it appears that’s just a small part of what’s coming to the Camera app.

Mark Gurman writes to Bloomberg:

Apple Inc. plans to upgrade its Camera app, making the software fully customizable as part of a broader set of UI changes coming in its next iPhone software update.

With the new approach, users will be able to choose which features appear in the Camera app and where they are placed. This includes controls for flash, exposure, timer and resolution, according to people with knowledge of the matter.

Gurman further explains that each different mode in the Camera app will offer its own set of customizable controls. These will be available “from a transparent “Add Widgets” tray that slides up from the bottom of the app. »

For example, advanced Photo mode options will include depth of field and exposure controls, and you can swap photographic styles, timer, and more.

These updates are part of more sweeping design changes Gurman says will arrive in iOS 27, including improvements to Liquid Glass. You can read more about these changes here.
