Deadline has learned that eight guest stars have signed on, including another recent Oscar winner: Amy Madigan, whose work in Weapons was an awards season triumph for horror alongside Coogler’s. Sinners. Another fun addition is Steve Buscemi, who needs no introduction, alongside Ben Foster. Montgrad (True Detective: Land of the Night)and Sofia Grace Clifton (Muppet Mayhem).
I hope this range of names will help bring The X Files from “pilot with potential” to “show we can actually watch.” Cooger is writing and directing the pilot and is also an executive producer, as was the case with the original. X-Files creator Chris Carter. Jennifer Yale (See) is on board as another executive producer, and she is also the showrunner.
