Apple TV hit ‘The Studio’ wins major awards shows

Apple TV continues to break records, this time with “The Studio” becoming the first comedy to win every major award in a single season.

May 10 marked the 2026 BAFTA awards, with Apple taking home three wins in total. Two of the awards went to Will Smith as drama writer for “Slow Horses,” while another went to Rob Coldstream as factual director for “Vietnam: The War That Changed America.”

But the third is the most crucial in this story. The studio won a BAFTA award in the International category. And with this victory, it became the first comedy in history to win all the major awards in a single season.

“The historic journey of ‘The Studio’ has been nothing short of astonishing,” said Matt Cherniss, Apple TV’s head of programming. “The resounding success of the series is a testament to the extraordinary talent, creativity and innovation of Seth, Evan and the entire creative team and cast.”

“The series has deeply touched audiences around the world, making millions laugh,” added Cherniss. “We couldn’t be more proud of the team’s monumental achievement and how ‘The Studio’ has redefined what’s possible for comedy on a global scale.”

“The Studio” also won a record 13 Emmy Awards, including Outstanding Comedy and Outstanding Lead Actor Seth Rogen. The series also won Golden Globe Awards for Best Comedy and Best Actor in a Seth Rogen Comedy.

It doesn’t stop there either. The Critics’ Choice Awards awarded the series for Best Comedy, Best Actor in a Comedy by Seth Rogen, and Best Supporting Actor in a Comedy by Ike Barinholtz.

The American Film Institute awarded it Television Program of the Year, while the Golden Globe, Emmy and Critics Choice Awards all recognized the series as Best Comedy. And it’s only a few rewards.

Apple TV is set to enter its seventh year in November and has performed quite well. Series like “Ted Lasso,” “Severance” and now “The Studio” regularly attract new subscribers to the platform.

Movies such as “Coda,” “Killers of the Flower Moon” and the powerful “F1 The Movie” also performed well for Apple TV. The latter became the most watched film in the history of Apple TV, and the most lucrative film of Brad Pitt’s career.
