Cozy City Builder Town To City leaves Early Access on May 26

The super adorable and incredibly comfortable city building game From city to city will leave Early Access and arrive on Steam in all its voxelized glory on May 26. From city to city first arrived on Steam Early Access in September 2025, and since then it has collected almost 4,000 reviews, 98% of which are positive, which is quite an achievement. Accompanying the full launch, From city to city will receive many updates, including the new Rocemarée map, a tourist route ability, as well as new buildings, quests, jobs and accessories.

From city to city is a meditative, low-risk city builder that lets you customize a 19th century Mediterranean landscape and increase its population, slowly unlocking new homes, businesses, social centers, animals, jobs, crops, and architectural features along the way. Even in the countryside, From city to city is incredibly forgiving and there really is no failure state. You can lay out streets and place buildings wherever you want, without a grid, and there are also challenges that can unlock more features and bigger cities. There’s a secondary farming village to find and manage, as well as research trees and rich town management features. Sandbox mode is unlimited space to build the village of your dreams, encouraging creativity and careful design work.

The level of detail you can achieve in From city to city is remarkable, because you can place all sorts of flowers, shrubs, light fixtures, and tiny potted plants on building facades, and these elements automatically change shape to appear both functional and cute. Pumpkins and jack-o-lanterns are my favorite, whether they’re stacked at the foot of a lucky city dweller’s house, tied to a windowsill, or floating at random intervals on the local lake.

Indie studio Galaxy Grove has been updated From city to city in early access since September and it is regularly reaching the milestones of its roadmap. The most recent major addition was a terraforming feature, and previous updates added animals, Halloween decorations, cherry blossoms, and other seasonal treats. Galaxy Grove and From city to city Publisher Kwalee is on track to add controller support to the game in the second half of 2026. Meanwhile, a second Galaxy Grove team is working on a voxel-art rail mogul called From steam to electric.
