iOS 26.5 improves the Reminders app by improving one of my main features

iOS 26.5 is set to launch next week, and a newly discovered improvement further improves one of my most used Reminders features.

Reminders in iOS 26.5 changes snooze feature to show specific times

Every time a scheduled reminder is due, you will receive a notification on your iPhone.

If you long-press this notification, the Reminders app has long offered several snooze options.

You’ll see snooze options like “Call me back in an hour,” “Call me back this afternoon,” and “Call me back tomorrow.”

I use this snooze feature all the time when I can’t complete a task right away, but don’t want to forget it.

The second option changes dynamically depending on the time of day. So if you check it in the morning, you will see the option to repeat in the afternoon. If it is in the afternoon it will say “Tonight” and in the evening you will see “Tomorrow morning”.

But I always found it strange how ambiguous these morning/afternoon/evening descriptors were.

And it seems Apple agrees, as iOS 26.5 updates these snooze options to show specific times instead.

As Aaron Perris discovered, Apple has updated the language of its snooze options to make it very clear what time a reminder will reappear.

For example, here are the repeat options I saw this morning in iOS 26.5:

  • Call me back in 1 hour
  • Call me back at 3:00 p.m.
  • Call me back tomorrow

Again, the second option changes depending on the time of day. So you’ll see the “3:00 p.m.” language change if it’s not currently morning. For example, in the evening you will see an option that repeats until “Tomorrow at 9:00”.

It’s a fairly small improvement, but as someone who repeats reminders a lot, I expect to start using this second option more than ever in iOS 26.5 and beyond.

Are you already using the snooze reminder options, and will iOS 26.5 change that? Let us know in the comments.
