Apple TV is putting together a jam-packed summer lineup, with the return of beloved comedies like Ted Lasso and Trying, as well as several fan-favorite sci-fi series. Here are three sci-fi series returning soon to Apple TV.
#1: Dark Matter season 2

Dark Matter returns for a new season this summer, starring Joel Edgerton, Jennifer Connelly, Alice Braga, Jimmi Simpson and more.
The first season was based on New York Times bestselling novel by Blake Crouch. Crouch was the showrunner of the Apple TV adaptation, and the original story for season 2 is also co-written by him.
Dark Matter Season 2 Premieres Friday August 28 with one episode, then weekly releases until October 30.
Here’s Apple’s official Season 2 plot summary:
The second season picks up with the Dessens as they settle into a quiet life in a world that finally seems safe until the unimaginable forces them to flee again. As Jason’s obsession with the Box deepens, Daniela’s (Connelly) growing paranoia pushes her to the edge, threatening to tear their fragile stability apart. Elsewhere, Amanda (Braga) and Ryan (Simpson) join forces in a desperate attempt to find their way home. While Blair (Brugel) is determined to stop him, Leighton (Okeniyi) relentlessly pursues his grand vision of creating a perfect world.
#2: Silo season 3

Silo is one of Apple TV’s biggest hits, and Season 3 is set to bring an exciting expansion outside of the world of Silo.
The series is based on Hugh Howey’s bestselling trilogy of novels, and this new season will cover the events of books 2 and 3, including a major flashback storyline that introduces all-new characters.
Silo season 3 is coming Friday July 3 with its first episode, followed by weekly releases until September 4.
Here’s Apple’s preview of what’s to come in Season 3:
The third season of “Silo” continues the saga of a dystopian society of 10,000 people living underground in mysterious circumstances, while revealing an origin story set centuries earlier. In the present, Juliette Nichols (Ferguson) survives her forced “cleansing” but returns with memory loss as the Silo recovers from the rebellion and faces a dangerous new threat. Meanwhile, in “Before Times,” journalist Helen Drew (Jessica Henwick) and Congressman Daniel Keene (Ashley Zukerman) uncover a conspiracy that leads them into a chain of events with catastrophic and irreversible consequences.
#3: Sugar season 2

Sugar is a neo-noir crime series that doesn’t look like science fiction on the surface. No spoilers, but anyone who watched season 1 will remember the big sci-fi twist that should have a huge impact on season 2.
Collin Farrell stars in the series, which is based in Los Angeles and resembles old-school private detective crime films.
Sugar Season 2 Premieres Friday June 19 with one episode, followed by weekly releases until August 7.
Here is the summary of the Apple series:
“Sugar” is a contemporary and unique take on one of the most popular and important genres in the history of literature, cinema and television: the private detective novel. The second season marks the return of iconic Los Angeles private detective and movie connoisseur John Sugar. Emmy nominee Colin Farrell returns for a new case, tracking down the troubled older brother of a promising local boxer as his search for his beloved missing sister continues. As the investigation spirals into a city-wide conspiracy with sinister intentions, Sugar must reckon with himself to answer the question: how far will he go to do what’s right?
