Apple today reported another quarter of record profits, and it came with a big announcement regarding the iPhone 17 lineup: it’s now the company’s most popular model family.
The iPhone 17 family reaches another important milestone
Apple is celebrating another huge sales quarter, with wins across the board for all products.
But the iPhone contributes greatly to this success. And while we knew that the iPhone 17 family was selling very well, Apple has just confirmed that it has reached a new milestone.
Apple CFO Kevan Parekh gave the following quote to the Financial Times:
The iPhone 17 family is now the most popular lineup in our history
Other details were not shared. Does this mean this is the best-selling iPhone line of all time? It certainly seems like that’s what Parekh is saying. Perhaps on the earnings call, Apple will confirm with more details.
Parekh also said FT which Apple estimates to have “gained market share during the quarter”. This means that the iPhone’s success overall exceeds that of its Android competitors.
Much has been written about the iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro, and iPhone 17 Pro Max being big hits. But the remarkable success of the entire line means that the iPhone Air must also be a strong contributor.
Even though the Air has underperformed some expectations, Apple clearly has every reason to celebrate its entire current flagship lineup.
