Next year’s iPhone Pro models could get an all-new design and a quad-curved display

Apple has been rumored to launch a special 20th anniversary iPhone next year, but according to a new report, it won’t be a new standalone model, but rather an entirely new design for the iPhone Pro line.

Report Says 20th Anniversary iPhone Is Not a Separate Model, Rather a New Design for the Pro Line

The iPhone line has been shaken up a lot lately. Last year, the iPhone Air replaced the iPhone Plus, and this fall the first iPhone Ultra is arriving.

Rumors have long indicated that Apple is also preparing a special model for 2027, timed to the 20th anniversary of the iPhone.

It is expected to have a curved quad display that appears bezel-less. And it may only have a small cutout for the camera, although there are rumors that Apple is aiming to remove all glass cutouts entirely.

Mark Gurman originally reported to Bloomberg that it would be a special “Pro” model. But more recently, Gurman and other reports have given the impression that it is instead an entirely separate model.

However, a new report from analyst Jeff Pu seen by 9to5Mac indicates that this 20th anniversary design is actually intended for Apple’s Pro line. Extract from the report:

We expect the 20th iPhone launch from 2H27 to shift the focus of innovation to mainstream iPhone Pro+Max models, featuring a 4-edge round screen and continued design efforts on under-screen cameras on the front.

This corresponds to BloombergThe original report from , in which Gurman referred to a “bold new Pro model that makes more extensive use of glass.”

If Pu is right, then Apple is not planning a special 20th anniversary iPhone model. Instead, it features an all-new special design for the 2027 iPhone Pro and Pro Max models.
