Information about the smart speaker was found in the company’s own code base.
It’s been about six years since Apple released a true refresh of its HomePod mini smart speaker. Reports have indicated that the company plans to launch an updated model this fall, which would likely coincide with the official launch of the Siri AI assistant. We finally have some probable images of the speakers, according to Woozad.
The publication dug up information about the device and clear images of the new speaker in all its different colors while digging into Apple’s own code. To this end, the HomePod mini 2 would be available in green, pink, light blue, white and black. The original speaker is available in yellow, orange, blue, white and midnight black. The overall design appears relatively unchanged.

Apple’s code indicates a release in the near future. This follows reports that an improved HomePod mini and a new Apple TV streaming box would launch later this year.
We don’t have any other details about the speaker, including its price and specifications. It will likely include a new chip, but that’s just speculation given the rumored integration with Siri AI and the fact that the original speaker is six years old.
The original HomePod mini was released in October 2020 and cost $99, before Apple increased the price to $129. There hasn’t been a real hardware refresh since then, but the company did release a new colorway in July 2024.
There’s also a rumor that Apple is working on some sort of smart home hub designed entirely around Siri AI. Reports have indicated that it will look a bit like a HomePod mini cut in half, with a small screen.
