Apple’s iPhone 18 Pro will be available to customers on Friday, September 18. While for the first time the Pro models were overshadowed by a new option – in this case the iPhone Duo, which launches later in October – this update brings significant improvements in battery life, camera and general efficiency with a vapor chamber better integrated into the processor, guaranteeing users more power for a longer period of time. Whether you’re upgrading from the iPhone 17 or have been holding on to your old phone for years, there are a few essential accessories that can improve your life, while also making your device more secure, including a suitable case, a screen protector, a new pair of headphones, and something that can give your phone a little style.

These accessories come from trusted brands that have been reviewed by BGR in the past, but have also been used by thousands of customers who have left positive reviews online about these accessories. Some of these are also some of my favorite items whenever I buy a new phone because they give my shiny iPhone extra protection. While some of these options can be a bit pricey, they also provide good longevity, keeping up with you and your iPhone until you decide to upgrade again, or maybe even longer.

You can get a new case from Apple, Nomad, Casetify, Beats, etc. However, the one I’ve been using for the last two generations of iPhones is the Snap Case MOVAS from Moft. Made from vegan leather, which includes a protective coating, a colored polyurethane layer, and a reinforced woven backing, this generation of Moft cases are lighter, softer, and, according to the company, more durable.

For iPhone 18 Pro, the case weighs 0.98 oz. In general, it is 0.15mm thinner on the sides, 0.4mm thinner on its structure, and the magnet is also 0.1mm thinner. Still, the company has raised the screen bezel by 1.4mm and the camera ring by 0.65mm to ensure that if your phone is dropped, the case is the only one that gets damaged. Moft says its MOVA cases feel better in the hand because they feature larger, more rounded metal buttons, making it easier to press the volume and action keys. The case is also slightly more rounded and more convenient to hold throughout the day.

In my experience, the last two models have held up very well for over a year with no visible fading or marks. Most impressive to me is that I chose the Misty Cove version, which, if it came from Apple, would get smudged very quickly. Moft’s case costs $49.99 and comes in several different colors.

Belkin is one of the most recognizable brands of charging accessories for iPhone, iPad and Mac. However, Belkin also sells screen protectors that, in my experience and that of several other customers, are among the best on the market. For example, I use Belkin’s protective case on the Nintendo Switch 2, and after a year, everything looks like new. For the iPhone 18 Pro models, the company is offering an all-new Bright Privacy Screen Protector, which is the closest iPhone users will get to the Samsung Galaxy 26 Ultra’s privacy screen.

The Titan SmartShield Pro also features anti-glare technology to reduce glare, an anti-fingerprint coating to keep the screen smudge-free, and features a close-fitting installation so users won’t have any bubbles, dust, or issues installing the protective case at home. It costs $64.99 and is Belkin’s most premium screen protector yet.

The latest iPhone models, including the iPhone 18 Pro, support 25W wireless charging, which means customers can get 50% battery life in around 30 minutes. While this technology is a big step forward for wireless charging, it also makes the power bank and phone hot because the charger generates more heat. Even though the iPhone 17 Pro has a vapor chamber and the iPhone 18 Pro uses an upgraded version at the top of the processor, the best way to charge your phone wirelessly, especially on more demanding days, is with a power bank with an active cooling system, like Anker’s MagGo 2 Pro.

Like the previous generations of AirPods Pro 2, AirPods 4 and current AirPods Pro 3, the new AirPods 5 are also powered by the same H2 audio chip. Apple says this accessory has been redesigned with a new multi-port acoustic architecture, which enhances the adaptive EQ with richer, more detailed sound when listening to your favorite tracks. These earbuds also support Siri AI when connected to a supported iPhone, Live Translation, and a new Adaptive EQ feature that lets you personalize the sound of AirPods.

While users have a wide range of Apple AirPods and other earbuds to choose from, the AirPods 5 can be a great combination with the iPhone 18 Pro, especially for those who don’t like the in-ear design of the AirPods Pro but still want the latest technology. AirPods 5 start at $129, and the high-end $149 version offers slightly better battery life and wireless charging support as key differentiators.

Followed by several straps introduced with the iPhone 17 models in 2025, Apple continues to expand its accessories by introducing a brand new strap for $29. Available in six different colors, Apple says this product is designed to attach to iPhone cases and AirPods Pro to provide a convenient hands-free experience for carrying these products. Apple says they’re made from 100% recycled PET yarn and sit comfortably on people’s wrists for all-day wear.

They are compatible with major Apple cases for iPhone Air, 17e, 17, 17 Pro/Max and 18 Pro models with a length of 15.4 inches, meaning they won’t be too long on the wrist. Luckily, this strap also works with the Moft case featured in this article.

Although Apple doesn’t talk much about why it continues to focus on lanyards and now bracelets, there has been a movement of people wearing these accessories with their iPhone. While there’s not much to innovate on this product, it can be a great way to add some style to the new iPhone 18 Pro, especially because the bands match the new colors, as well as some of the latest Apple Watch bands. With the iPhone 18 Pro launching on Friday, customers can already get their hands on the new bands, and they don’t need to just put them on their phone either, as they’re also compatible with the aforementioned AirPods Pro and any other product with a lanyard hole.
