Alongside iOS 27, iPadOS 27, and macOS Golden Gate, Apple today released new software for the HomePod and HomePod mini.
HomePod 27 software adds AirPlay enhancements and AutoMix support when listening to Apple Music.
This update introduces support for AutoMix with Apple Music, which transitions songs like a DJ does, time-stretching, and beatmatching to provide a seamless playback experience. It also offers improved AirPlay performance, providing faster and more responsive connections when sharing music from an iPhone, iPad or Mac, and provides bug fixes and security updates for your HomePod.
The HomePod software can be installed on the Home app on iPhone, iPad, or Mac by selecting the More button, choosing Home Settings, and then using the Software Update option. If automatic updates are enabled, the new HomePod software will be installed automatically.
