It appears that the iPhone Duo’s Vertical Dock can currently only accommodate a maximum of four apps. While handling the device, Marques Brownlee attempted to add a fifth app to the Dock, but was unable to do so. Apple doesn’t mention the four-app limit in its technical documentation, but those hoping to add a fifth or sixth app may be out of luck.
For the iPhone Duo, Apple moved the Dock to the right of the screen and made it vertical. It will probably take some getting used to for iPhone users, especially left-handed ones. No word yet on whether Apple will offer a left-handed mode for the rest of us.
