Apple announced a new Mac mini and a new Mac Studio last month. Both machines will begin shipping on Tuesday, September 22, meaning they’ll launch the same month as the new iPhones, Apple Watches, and AirPods.
Apple is expected to introduce these unannounced products at its annual fall iPhone event, which this year has the slogan “Surprise and Brilliance.” The event takes place on Wednesday, September 9, making this month one of the busiest months Apple has seen in a long time.
We should therefore see eight new Apple products put on sale before the end of September:
- Mac mini (M6 and M5 Pro): Announced this week, the new models will ship on September 22, with prices starting at $899.
- Mac Studio (M5 Max and M5 Ultra): Also announced this week, the new models will ship on September 22, with prices starting at $2,499.
- iPhone 18 Pro: The flagship device to be revealed at Apple’s fall event, featuring a smaller Dynamic Island and an A20 Pro chip.
- iPhone 18 Pro Max: The device is rumored to get a camera upgrade exclusive to the larger model, as well as a bigger battery.
- Foldable iPhone: The company’s first foldable is expected to have a screen of around 5.5 inches when closed and a screen of around 7.8 inches when open, as well as an ultra-thin design with minimal crease and a durable hinge. It could be called “iPhone Ultra”.
- Apple Watch Series 12: Apple’s next smartwatch is expected to feature fitness tracking improvements and a faster S12 chip.
- Apple Watch Ultra 4: Apple’s flagship rugged watch is expected to be updated alongside the Series 12, getting the same S12 chip.
- AirPods 5: The new earbuds have been listed in macOS 26.7 and are said to be ready for release, suggesting a launch alongside the new iPhones.
Apple will not release a standard iPhone 18 in September 2026. The lineup will instead focus on more expensive iPhones. The iPhone 18, iPhone 18e and iPhone Air 2 will instead be released in spring 2027. Apple does not plan to refresh the Apple Watch SE this year.
Apple has held its fall event during the first two weeks of September in each of the past years, with new iPhones going on sale the following Friday.
Apple’s “iPhone Ultra” was recently thought to have a delayed launch until October, although it is expected to be announced alongside the iPhone 18 Pro models. However, BloombergMark Gurman of Mark Gurman said this week that he would be “very surprised” if the foldable didn’t come out at the same time as the Pro iPhones or “very close to it.”
“Either on the same launch date, or a dual launch, or a few weeks later. This idea of a late October, November launch, massive delays, supply chain issues, I don’t think that’s the case,” he said.
Note that the Mac Studio configuration with 512 GB of unified memory will arrive in late October rather than September 22. All other Mac Studio configurations will ship in September.
