Apple today added the iPhone X and the 2018 model 15-inch MacBook Pro to its list of obsolete products, according to an updated support document.
Released in November 2017, the iPhone X was the first iPhone with an OLED screen and Face ID. The lack of a Touch ID home button allowed the device to have a more edge-to-edge display with a notch for the front camera and Face ID sensors. The device featured a premium design with a glass back and stainless steel frame.
When an iPhone becomes obsolete, it is no longer eligible for repairs or other hardware service at Apple Stores or Apple Authorized Service Providers.
Apple considers a product obsolete once seven years have passed since it stopped distributing it. Apple stopped selling the iPhone X in September 2018, but the device remained available for longer at select retailers.
iOS 16 was the last major software release compatible with the iPhone X.
