Apple Seeds Fifth Beta Releases of iOS 27 and iPadOS 27 to Developers

Apple today released the fifth beta versions of iOS 27 and iPadOS 27 to developers for testing, with the update available two weeks after Apple released the fourth beta.

Registered developers can download beta versions from the Settings app on iPhone or iPad by going to the General section and selecting Software Update.

‌iOS 27‌ introduces the smarter version of Apple’s Siri, ‌Siri‌ AI. ‌Siri‌ AI is a chatbot similar to ChatGPT, integrating general knowledge of the world, personal data from apps like Messages and Mail, and screen awareness to answer questions and find information for you.

There are new Apple Intelligence features in apps like Photos, Safari, Shortcuts, Wallet, and Passwords, and Apple has added a standalone ‌Siri‌ app that hosts ‌Siri‌ conversations. Writing with ‌Siri‌ is available systemwide to generate text or offer feedback on your writing, and visual intelligence has been moved to the Camera app with a new ‌Siri‌ mode.

Apple improved the appearance of Liquid Glass and added a slider to customize transparency. There are several performance improvements to speed up iOS, so everything feels faster, even on older iPhones. Apps launch faster, AirDrop transfers are faster, the keyboard appears faster, and devices transition better between Wi-Fi and cellular to keep you connected.
