The original Switch storefront also finally supports dark mode.
Nintendo has rolled out an update for the Switch that brings a long-awaited feature to the eShop. You can now use the store in dark mode as long as your system is set to this theme. Oh, and there’s the small matter of Nintendo’s redesign of the eShop. Navigating games now feels much faster and more responsive.
As noted Vooks (as a Kotaku), the Switch version of the eShop is now a native app rather than a web experience. After testing it on both consoles, the eShop remains a little faster on the Switch 2 – better hardware will see to that. However, this update will make all the difference for those who still use a Switch. It’s a shame that it took Nintendo almost a decade to get the eShop to this point, especially after a ton of people had already upgraded to the Switch 2, but we’ll take it.
Look at it carefully

The company made some other useful changes with this update, like the ability to lock the eShop with a PIN. You can also protect saved payment methods with a PIN. Elsewhere, you’ll be able to fast forward and rewind 10-second full-screen videos in both the eShop and News app with the ZL and ZR buttons.
