Chase announced new benefits for its Sapphire Preferred credit card this week, and one of them is a free one-year subscription to Apple TV streaming.
To get the free year of Apple TV, which typically costs $12.99 per month in the US, you must activate the card before December 31, 2026.
If you already subscribe to Apple TV directly through Apple, Chase’s free subscription will automatically replace your paid subscription until it ends, after which the paid subscription will resume at the then-current price.
As noted 9to5MacApple One subscribers can get $7.50 off per month.
If you are an Apple One subscriber directly through Apple and activate your free Apple TV access on Chase.com or the Chase Mobile app with the same Apple account connected to your Apple One billing, you will automatically receive $7.50 off your Apple One subscription for 12 months beginning with your next billing period.
Chase’s Sapphire Preferred card continues to charge a $95 annual fee. New and existing cardholders have access to these new benefits today.
Other new benefits include 3× points on gas, electric vehicle charging, and Airbnb and Vrbo bookings, while the card’s annual hotel statement credit has been doubled to $100. There is also a new Global Entry, TSA PreCheck or NEXUS credit of $120 every four years, as well as new “evacuation and emergency transportation” coverage.
On the other hand, the 10% birthday bonus is removed and Ultimate Rewards points will be transferred to World of Hyatt at the rate of 4:3.
More details are available in Chase’s press release. For a limited time, new cardholders can earn 100,000 points after spending $5,000 in the first three months.
Chase’s premium Sapphire Reserve credit card offers free subscriptions to Apple TV and Apple Music, but it has a $795 annual fee.
