This remake of the story of the first game will be released on consoles on July 28.
We are about six weeks away from the launch of Halo: Campaign Evolvedwhich is a remake of the single-player campaign from the very first game in the franchise. You know what that means: Marketing is starting to heat up. Xbox just released three robust gameplay videos, as well as a blog, that highlight various mechanics.
The first video highlights the many ways players can modify gameplay to suit their tastes and preferred difficulty level. Each mission can be completed alone or with a friend cooperatively. There are also 42 collectible skulls scattered throughout the game. These skulls allow people to attach gameplay modifiers to games.
Skulls can make things more difficult or make the protagonist more powerful. They can also do stupid things like explode confetti on defeated enemies. There’s even a campaign remix feature that changes things up with randomized weapons, altered enemy behavior, new enemy encounters, and visual modifiers.
Another video presents a whole new way to experience history. Halo: Campaign Evolved includes the option for a third-person view, which is quite interesting. Halo Infinite came up with this feature and it was fun.
Third-person view will not be available immediately. Players must find one of the aforementioned hidden skulls to unlock it.
Finally, there’s a video of the entire assault on the control room level, which was the demo that made the rounds after the recent Xbox Games Showcase. This remake is definitely enjoyable to watch.
Halo: Campaign Evolved will be released for Xbox Series X/S, PS5 and PC on July 28. However, those who purchase the Premium Edition or Collector’s Edition can play earlier, on July 23.
