Public betas will follow later this year.
If you didn’t catch the end of Apple’s WWDC 2026 keynote, the first beta versions of iOS, iPadOS, and macOS 27 are available for download after the conclusion of today’s presentation. Provided you’re enrolled in the Apple Developer Program, you can download beta versions through the Settings app on each device. Apple also released new software for watchOS, tvOS and visionOS.
The beta versions include many, but not all, of the features that Apple demonstrated today at WWDC. More will be available in later previews. However, today’s beta versions feature Siri AI, the oft-delayed overhaul of its digital assistant that Apple has been promising since 2024. Other highlights include new Apple Intelligence features for photo editing and more, in addition to performance improvements on iOS and iPadOS. Beta builds are intended to give developers a taste of what Apple has been working on, so they can then incorporate those improvements into their apps once the company releases the new operating systems to the public later in the year. Apple will likely offer public beta versions of iOS, iPadOS, and macOS this summer, with final public versions following in the fall.
