Apple, at WWDC 2026, today said it has made several responsiveness improvements across its software ecosystem, speeding up system animations, app launches and more.
Apple says iPhone and iPad apps launch up to 30% faster on all devices, while new photos taken on iPhone appear up to 70% faster in iCloud Photos.
Elsewhere, sharing files between devices via AirDrop is now up to 80% faster and transfers in the Files app are up to 50% faster. There’s also a new CPU scheduling manager that prioritizes tasks and ensures the right work gets done on time.
Apple also says that network transitions on its mobile devices have been improved, so switching between cellular data and Wi-Fi when you’re on the go seems much smoother.
