The best smart home gadgets and devices don’t need to break the bank. After all, a high price doesn’t necessarily mean high quality, and there are plenty of cheap smart home gadgets under $30 that are worth buying. However, some luxury smart home devices deserve their high price tag – and are well worth spending the extra money if you can.

These are not just upgradeable smart devices or unnecessarily expensive products, these are high-end gadgets that are among the best in their respective categories according to experts and users.

Below, we break down four luxury smart devices that are definitely worth investing your hard-earned money in, if your budget allows. We looked at Lutron’s discreet line of premium smart blinds and shades, Ecobee’s smart thermostat that monitors air quality and adjusts the temperature based on the room’s occupants, Vivint’s advanced security system with optional 24/7 professional monitoring, and Dreame’s high-performance robot vacuum.

Rated by Wirecutter and CNET as the best luxury smart shades and shades you can buy in 2026, Lutron’s Serena line offers three types of motorized window coverings: roller shades, wood shades, and honeycomb shades. Once you have chosen the type of blind or blind you want, you can customize design details such as style, fabric, color, finish, power options (battery or corded), dimensions, bracket and accessories, although the options available depend on your choice of blind or shade.

Once set up, you can use the Lutron app to control your shades or shades, setting scheduled times for them to open and close, or controlling them remotely. Serena blinds work through Google Home, Apple Home, Apple Watch, Amazon Alexa, Samsung SmartThings and Logitech Harmony.

However, these smart blinds certainly don’t come cheap, with prices for honeycomb blinds starting at $486 per blind, roller blinds starting at $684 per blind, and wooden blinds starting at $699 each. Additionally, to integrate these shades into your smart home system, you need a Lutron Smart Hub, which starts at $89.95. The investment is worth it, according to experts and users, who praise the high quality, speed and quiet motors, as well as the breadth of customization options offered.

At $259.99, the Ecobee Thermostat Premium may not be as expensive as some of the other luxury smart devices on this list, but it’s pretty pricey for a smart thermostat. Nonetheless, this smart thermostat is recommended by experts – including PCMag and Wirecutter – as the best available in 2026. So, what is it?

In addition to the usual smart thermostat features such as remote temperature management and the ability to set schedules, the Ecobee Thermostat Premium includes a number of additional features to fine-tune your indoor climate. These include a companion SmartSensor, which can detect when your home or individual rooms are occupied and automatically adjust the temperature to help save energy costs, and a built-in air quality monitor that provides alerts and advice for improvement. It also includes home security features like motion and people monitoring (with more features unlocked via a paid subscription) and can be used as a fully functional smart speaker.

The Smart Thermostat Premium can be controlled by voice, with Alexa built-in and the device supporting multiple smart home platforms including Google Assistant, HomeKit, IFTTT and Samsung SmartThings. Consumer Reports gave this smart gadget a glowing review, particularly for its connected features like voice control functions, while Amazon users praise its ease of setup and setup, with several reporting that it’s better than the Google Nest.

Experts consider Vivint to be one of the best home security brands. Although you can speak to a Vivint representative to create a custom system, the company also offers three security packages, as well as an option to create your own package.

The Security & Safety Bundle offers most devices, including a Doorbell Camera Pro, Smart Hub, Outdoor Camera Pro, four door and window sensors, motion sensor, smoke and CO detector, water sensor, Vivint yard sign (to deter would-be burglars), and free professional installation. As with other smart home security systems, you can monitor, control and automate your connected devices through the Vivint app or Smart Hub. However, this bundle alone costs $1,549, with an optional 24/7 Professional Monitoring subscription, which includes alarm event monitoring and emergency response coordination, starting at $44.99 per month.

Experts praise the picture quality of Vivint’s doorbell and outdoor cameras. However, some users have reported being locked into contracts and unable to leave it due to high cancellation fees. According to SafeHome, most Vivint security systems require a minimum 42-month contract to finance hardware. So before you sign up, make sure you read the fine print.

The Dreame X60 Max Ultra Complete tops our list of the best robot vacuums you can buy in 2026, according to experts. Priced at $1,699.99, this robot vacuum and mop combo offers some of the most powerful suction in its class, with 35,000 Pa of suction power and a built-in retractable pressure plate that touches the carpet for better suction.

While the Roborock Saros 20 is technically more powerful at 36,000 Pa, Mashable rated its cleaning performance – and overall score – lower than the X60. In testing, Vacuum Wars found that the

Experts also praise the X60’s cleaning, with Vacuum Wars finding that it performed well in its coffee removal test and Mashable reporting that the X60’s 104-degree Fahrenheit water meant it “succeeded” in cleaning dried water spots. This, coupled with improvements over previous Dreame vacuums, including a smarter object avoidance system, improved climbing capabilities (up to 45mm for a single threshold), and a slimmer 3.13-inch design, help make the X60 a great all-rounder.
